The torus, carved in wood.

The torus is the shape of a ring doughnut: a surface that flows in through its centre, around, and back out again. It turns up everywhere from smoke rings to magnetic fields, and it is the shape behind our torus antennas. Seen from above, it becomes a spiral field of cells that shrink towards one point in the middle.

This disc carries that field as a real 3D relief. We engrave it into solid wood layer by layer with a laser, so hundreds of small cells stand up from the surface in a twisting checker pattern and lead the eye down into a domed centre. Run a finger over it and you feel the field rather than just see it.
